PSP Volume Up Broken

Last week i found my PSP volume up button is not working any more. I couldn’t get it working even after a reset of device. So i concluded that that must be wrong with the hardware. When i opened it up the strip connecter between the keys and main board is having a small crack. I have no idea how that happened :(.  When i started to lookup for solutions over internet concluded into two options

  •  send it PSP service center ( It might cost heavy+ i might miss psp for a long time)
  •  Get a PSP volume Controller board and replace it myself.  But i couldn’t find any online store in india selling this thing.

Then i thought what about emulate keypress of volume up button by means of software. I got all the stuff need from the PSP Homebrew community and wrote a small plugin for PSP ( Obviously for a CFW). Download the plugin and enable it in VSH. There you go Press Right Trigger + Square my volume is up 🙂

Note:- This plugin Tested on a PSP G0 running 6.60 LCFW

You will need custom firmware running on your psp. Give details of your psp

  • Randy

yep, got the plugin but dunno how to install it, can you help me…???

You need a custom firware / hacked firware that support plugins. If you need more info on how to hack your psp refer this site http://pspcfw.com/

Anyway to edit the plugin to make emulate other keys ?

I dont have a pspgo nor the environment I used compile code. I have put code here https://github.com/netmaxt3r/psp_volume_emulator . If you have a psp sdk configured some minor tweeks will be enough to get what you are looking for
